INDIGENOUS AND NORTHERN AFFAIRS CANADA ACQUIRES WORK FROM “SUPER PHAT NISH” SERIES

Under a special acquisition, the Indigenous Art Centre at Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) has recently acquired a significant work from the 2005 Super Phat Nish series entitled Image-Makers. The work is 338 x 165 cm and acrylic on canvas. Image-Makers has been exhibited at that Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba, Brandon (2005) in Super Phat Nish curated by Cathy Mattes; American Indian Community House Gallery, New York City (2006) in Playing Tricks curated by Ryan Rice; Ojibwe Cultural Foundation, M’Chigeeng, Manitoulin Island  and the Workers Arts and Heritage Centre, Hamilton (2011) in N’nisidwaamdis: I Recognize Myself curated by Crystal Migwans.

Image-Makers will be installed in the main lobby of INAC headquarters in Gatineau, Québec.
