Ace’s work was highlighted as one of ten invited Indigenous artists on the Southwestern Association for Indian Arts (SWAIA) on-line platform under this year’s market theme Celebrating Native Textiles. Art of Indigenous Fibers was curated by Amber-Dawn Bear Robe, Fashion Show Producer noted that between January 25 to February 7, 2021 SWAIA.ORG is highlighting Indigenous artists who creatively blur the line between textiles, art and fashion. Artists who challenge the categorical intersection of fibre arts and Indigenous art, both of which have, at various moments, been considered as craft rather than fine art. The ten invited Indigenous artists in the on-line exhibition are noted for pushing both the boundaries of the medium of fibre, or reversely, using unconventional materials that refer to and are transformed into an unexpected textile. This on-line content was only available for two weeks. Scroll left to see screen captures from the original exhibition website.
